About The Event

‘Putin’s Russia: What Next? - The Perspective of a CIA operative’!

The Stubbs society is delighted to welcome Steve Hall, the Former CIA Moscow Station Chief to our summer podcast series.  With 30 years of experience managing US intelligence operations in Eurasia and Latin America, Steve Hall has a unique and insightful perspective on international affairs in these regions.

Highlights of his illustrious career include serving as the Chief of the Central Eurasia Division, an Executive at CIA hearquartes and now working as a national security analyst for CNN. These experiences mean he is well acquainted with Russian politics, life in the CIA and the issues posed by cyber threats and electoral interference.

In this podcast our president, Joe Davies, speaks with Mr Hall about Putin’s Russia; the new Russian constitution and the impact it may have on the country; life in the CIA; 21st century espionage and Russian aggression, particularly with regards to the accusations of interference in the US election and the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal in the UK.
